C3PAO executives volunteering to provide formal feedback on a range of CMMC issues
The Cyber AB today announced the initial slate of volunteers for its inaugural C3PAO Advisory Council. Owners, executives, and CMMC business area leaders among the Authorized CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organizations (C3PAOs) compose the Council, which serves as a recognized entity to provide feedback and recommendations for Cyber AB consideration in improving assessment processes and clarifying guidance.
Members of the C3PAO Advisory Council are volunteers and will serve in a non-compensatory capacity. The application process administered by the Cyber AB resulted in the selection of the 11-member council. Though not a formal criterion, all Council appointees are CMMC Certified Assessors (CCAs). Members of the Council will serve a two-year term and oversee subordinate committees focusing on topics such as accreditation, assessment guidance, external services, and the CMMC Assessment Process (CAP).
The Cyber AB will utilize the Council as a primary source of advice and feedback, both for its own purposes as an accreditation body conforming to the ISO/IEC 17011:2017 standard, as well as to generate prospective content such as assessment-methods guidelines, insights into CMMC implementation conformity, and emerging technologies for the broader CMMC Ecosystem.
The Cyber AB has appointed the following individuals to the C3PAO Advisory Council:
- Scott Singer (Chair) CyberNINES LLC
- Tom Tollerton (Vice Chair) Forvis Mazars, LLP
- Ola Sage (Secretary), CyberRx, Inc.
- Katie Dodson, Hive Systems
- Thomas Graham, Redspin
- Jennifer Hawks, Aprio, LLP
- Robert McVay, Smithers Quality Assessments, Inc.
- Andy Sauer, Sentinel Blue, LLC
- John Shamasko, The CMMC Team LLC
- Amy Williams, Coalfire Federal
- Marci Womack, Schellman & Company, LLC
Matthew Travis, CEO of The Cyber AB, stated, “I am extremely pleased that such an esteemed group of C3PAO leaders agreed to take on this additional responsibility for the benefit of the CMMC Program. We are looking forward to receiving their wise counsel on a wide range of CMMC issues.”
The Council will convene no less than quarterly, though there will likely be more frequent meetings at the beginning of its operations. While contributing to the C3PAO Advisory Council, Members do not receive any special consideration or privileges from The Cyber AB, ensuring equitable and impartial treatment for all parties. The C3PAO Advisory Council exists to provide feedback to The Cyber AB solely and does not have any affiliation with the U.S. Department of Defense.
