HilltopSecurities Launches 5th Annual Hilltop Hunt

Online Contest Offers Texas Pre-K–12 Educators Chance to Win Share of $80,000 in Donations and Prizes

On Oct. 5, 2025, World Teachers’ Day, Hilltop Securities Inc. (HilltopSecurities) will launch its fifth annual virtual Hilltop Hunt, inviting Texas prekindergarten through 12th grade educators to join the statewide online Texas trivia hunt. In honor of the firm’s 80th anniversary next year, HilltopSecurities is increasing this year’s total prize amount to $80,000.

“We’re proud to mark five years of the Hilltop Hunt and the upcoming 80th anniversary of HilltopSecurities,” said HilltopSecurities President and CEO Brad Winges. “The Hunt is one way we show our commitment to education in Texas, and since it started, it’s helped provide more than $225,000 to education foundations across the state. We’re so grateful to the educators who take part and for everything they do for their students and communities.”

Join the Hunt to Help Find Mo!

Hilltop’s mascot, Mo the Buffalo, loves traveling across Texas. During the Hilltop Hunt, participants can follow his virtual path as he visits well-known landmarks across the state. The Hunt takes place entirely online at HilltopHunt.com and begins on Sunday, Oct. 5, when the first riddle will be posted. After that, a new riddle will be posted each weekday from Oct. 6 to Oct. 16, each one offering clues about where Mo has been.

Participants earn entries into a prize drawing by answering riddles correctly. The fewer guesses it takes to solve a riddle, the more entries they receive. The Hunt will remain open until Oct. 23 with past riddles available to anyone who joins, even after the Hunt has started.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win. The Hunt is open to any educator employed by a TEA- or TPSCA-accredited Texas school serving students in prekindergarten through 12th grade. See official rules at HilltopHunt.com to review full eligibility details.

Over $80,000 in Prizes

At the conclusion of the Hunt, 18 winners will be selected by random drawing. Eight Gold Prize winners will receive a $10,000 donation to their school’s ISD Foundation or a comparable eligible teacher support organization, plus a pizza party for their homeroom class. Ten Silver Prize winners will receive a pizza party for their homeroom class.

HilltopSecurities representatives will visit each Gold Prize winner’s school to present the donation and celebrate their achievement. Last year’s winners were honored in cities including Amarillo, De Leon, Millsap, Wall, and Salado.
